ORGANIC BLACK PEPPER

Black Pepper is the mature dried berries of the perennial evergreen climbing vine-Pepper Plant, Piper Nigrum belongs to the family Piperaceae. It is the most widely used & traded spice in the world and known as "King of the Spices". Sri Lankan Black Pepper is particularly preferred globally as it is quite rich in "piperine", a chemical which lends it a distinct pungency and spiciness. The taste of Sri Lankan black pepper is richly aromatic, with floral and citrus notes, while retaining a strong pungency. The premium organic black pepper from our farmers is pure origin which gives spice lovers a taste worth discovering.

ORGANIC WHITE PEPPER

White pepper is the seed of the pepper plant, Piper Nigrum. Once the berries are harvested, they are soaked in often changing water or even washed many times using running water. The outside layer is taken out, and sensibly sun dried. Black and white pepper are both the fruit of the pepper plant, but they are processed differently.

ORGANIC CEYLON CINNAMON

Ceylon Cinnamon is the dried inner bark of the cinnamon plant Cinamomum Zylanicum. It is a plant indigenous to Sri Lanka and is a moderately sized bushy evergreen tree. Cinnamon grown and produced in Sri Lanka has acquired a long standing reputation in the international market because of its unique, quality, colour, flavour and aroma. Ceylon Cinnamon is referred to as "sweet cinnamon" and "true cinnamon", and is considered superior to the variety known as Cassia. Cassia cinnamon, but not Ceylon Cinnamon, is a very rich source of coumarin which can be toxic & harmful in large doses.

Strips of the inner bark are hand rolled into a pencil/cigar shape and dried, known as cinnamon sticks or quills. Peeling of cinnamon hand rolling to make sticks is an art and hand-craft. We offer all cinnamon grades- Alba, C5 special, C5, C4, M5, M4, H1, H2 and quilling. These grades are further available either in quills or cut form in different length sizes. These can also be ground into powder.

ORGANIC CLOVES

Cloves are the dried whole unopened flower buds of the evergreen tree Syzygium Aromaticum of the Myrtaceae family. Ceylon Clove is notably richer in oil than the clove varieties produced elsewhere in the world. Cloves are prized for its distinct flavour and aroma, and also for its medicinal qualities. Each and every clove bud is harvested by hand then sundried and graded according to size, color, and appearance with the presence of clove stems and headless cloves. We offer all grades handpicked cloves, Grade 1, Cloves FAQ and Cloves Stem.

ORGANIC NUTMEG

Nutmeg is the seed derived from the fruit of a dark-leaved evergreen tree Myristica Fragrans of the family Myristicaceae. Myristica Fragrans is the only tree that produces two separate spices, Nutmeg fruits are fleshy and drupe, when ripening, the fruit’s colour slowly transforms to yellow, and the pericarp is split into two halves exposing the seeds. The shiny seed which is nutmeg, is covered by a red aril called mace. From ancient times, Nutmeg has been a vastly prized spice for its numerous applications, especially for culinary, medicina. Nutmeg, grown in Sri Lanka has developed a complex chemical composition and an equally complex aroma based on the countries unique terroir, and is identified under the geographical indication of Ceylon Nutmeg. We offer organic aflatoxin free nutmeg since our farmers are well trained and committed to avoid contamination while harvesting. It is available in different forms: nutmeg without shell, ground or grated.

ORGANIC MACE

Mace is also derived from the fruit of a dark-leaved evergreen tree Myristica Fragrans. The fleshy red colour arils surrounding the nutmeg seed are called mace. The flavor of mace is softer and fruitier than nutmeg and is used in delicately flavored recipes. It has a wide range of uses from desserts to savory roast meats, as its lighter flavor pairs well with savory dishes. It is made available in both whole and ground form.

ORGANIC GINGER

Ginger is the underground rhizome of the plant Zingiber Officinale. Our farmers mostly produce local ginger variety that are characterized by small rhizomes and white fibrous flesh. Sri Lankan ginger, has a stronger flavour and aroma compared to other varieties which makes it more suitable for use in culinary purpose, producing beverages like ginger beer, ginger tea, and confectionery like gingerbread and ginger toffee. We offer dried whole form, sliced, TBC, powder.

ORGANIC TURMERIC

Turmeric is the dried tuberous rhizomes of herbaceous perennial plant, Curcuma Longa, which have been used from ancient times as a condiment. It is also used as a coloring agent as well as for flavor. The spice contains unique aromatic characteristics and antiseptic qualities, traditionally used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Sri Lankan Turmeric is well known for its high amount of Curcumin, which is the main constituent ingredient having anti-inflammatory properties. It emanates a rich, woody aroma and warm, pungent flavor when ground.
